色彩優美的寫實義式風景畫
托馬斯·哈特利·克羅梅克是一位英國藝術家。克羅梅克於1809年8月8日出生，是雕刻家羅伯特·哈特利·克羅梅克之子。他曾在韋克菲爾德的伊諾克·哈里森學校接受教育；隨後就讀於富爾內克的摩拉維亞學校和韋克菲爾德文法學校，最後又回到哈里森的學校。 他最初從韋克菲爾德的肖像畫家詹姆斯·亨特那裡接受藝術啟蒙，但於1826年前往利茲，師從才華橫溢的藝術家約瑟夫·羅德斯學習風景畫，並自學解剖繪圖。 1830年，他決定前往義大利研習大師之作。他途經比利時、萊茵蘭地區、瑞士和佛羅倫斯，最終抵達羅馬，並因其出色的素描技藝和嚴謹的色彩運用而迅速引起關注。從1831年到1849年，除了兩次短暫訪問英格蘭外，克羅梅克將時間花在遊歷並繪製義大利和希臘的主要建築及風景如畫的風光上。 1860年，他全票當選為水彩畫新學會的副會員，隨後隱退至韋克菲爾德，並於1873年在長期而痛苦的病痛中去世。他的畫作主要收藏於皇家及私人藏家手中，因其色彩之美和對自然的忠實再現而備受推崇。
