Watanabe Nobukazu
Famoso per le stampe di guerra
Designer di stampe e pittore di Tokyo. Considerato il miglior allievo di Yōshū Chikanobu (1838-1912), ha lavorato in una varietà di generi, dalle immagini di belle donne (biinga) alle vedute famose della Tokyo in modernizzazione (kaika-e), incluse rappresentazioni di esposizioni industriali nazionali, ritratti dell'imperatore e dell'imperatrice, e stampe di guerra sulle guerre sino-giapponese e russo-giapponese (senso-e). È forse più noto per le sue stampe di guerra. Durante la guerra sino-giapponese (1894-1895), Nobukazu realizzò un considerevole numero di eccellenti trittici e si fece una reputazione progettando scene di battaglia terrestri e navali.
