Willem Panneels
Incisore di copie di Rubens
Willem Panneels fu un incisore fiammingo attivo nella prima metà del XVII secolo. È noto principalmente per le copie che realizzò di disegni provenienti dallo studio personale di Rubens. Si sa molto poco della sua vita personale. Nacque intorno al 1600, probabilmente ad Anversa. Non si conosce alcuna informazione su di lui fino al suo arrivo nella bottega di Rubens nel 1624-1625. Quando lasciò la bottega di Rubens nel 1630, viaggiò verso Colonia, Baden e Francoforte sul Meno. Nel 1631 soggiornò a Magonza, dove lavorò per il principe-vescovo Anselm Casimir Wambold von Umstadt. Nel 1632 proseguì il viaggio verso Strasburgo e, dopo quella data, le registrazioni storiche non forniscono più notizie su di lui. Si presume che sia morto intorno al 1634 a Baden-Baden.
