William Ely Hill
Pionier der Doppelbild-Illustrationen
William Ely Hill war in der ersten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts ein äußerst beliebter Illustrator. Er zeichnete für Life und Puck und hatte seine eigene wöchentliche Illustrationsseite mit dem Titel „Among Us Mortals Hill zeichnete auch die Schutzumschlagkunst für die Erstausgaben von F. Scott Fitzgeralds „This Side of Paradise" (1920) und „Flappers and Philosophers" (1920). Bohemiens und Künstler, Pendler und Theaterbesucher fanden sich alle in den Zeichnungen von W. E. Hill eingefangen (und manchmal karikiert).
