朱耷
奇抜な水墨画の極簡様式
朱耷(1626–1705)、男性、原名は朱統𨨗、字は刃庵、号は八大山人、驢漢、雪個、人屋など。江西省南昌出身。漢民族で、明の洪武帝の十七男である朱権の九世孫。明末清初の画家であり、清初めの「四僧」の一人。 朱耷は幼少期から家族の影響を受けた。8歳で詩を作り、11歳で山水画を描き、行書を書くことができた。かつて奉国中尉の爵位を継承した。16歳で科挙に合格し、秀才となった。 崇禎17年(1644年)、明王朝が反乱軍によって倒された後、朱耷は迫害を避けるために聴覚障害と失語症を装い、最終的に新建、進賢、奉新の山々に隠棲した。 順治5年(1648年)、彼は剃髪して僧侶となり、仏教名を伝潜とした。順治10年(1652年)、彼は耿安長老から戒律を受け、宗師と呼ばれ、山に籠もって経典を教えた。 康熙元年(1662年)、彼は南昌に戻り、城から南へ十五里の位置にある道教寺院・天寧寺の住持となった。この寺院は後に朱耷の監督の下で再建され、青雲譜と改名された。康熙二十六年(1687年)、彼は青雲譜の指導権を涂若愚に譲り、南昌城内に五居草堂を築いた。この時期、彼は友人を訪ねて旅をし、多数の絵画を描いた。康熙三十三年(1694年)、彼は作品『魚石図』を制作した。 朱耷は康熙44年(1705年)に79歳で死去した。 Throughout his life, Zhu Da focused mainly on painting, combining it with poetry, calligraphy, and seal carving. His poetry was eccentric, obscure, mystical, and sarcastic. His calligraphy drew from masters like Wang Xizhi, Wang Xianzhi, and Yan Zhenqing and could convey a proud and unrestrained temperament with bold strokes while maintaining elegance and fluidity. His painting was particularly renowned; in flower-and-bird paintings, he favored expressive ink washes with exaggerated and unusual forms. His landscape paintings were influenced by Dong Qichang, featuring simple brushwork and a serene quality. His artistic creations achieved the harmony of "simple strokes with complete forms" and "combining form and spirit." Notable works include "Peacock Painting," "Willow and Bathing Birds," and "Lotus and Water Birds." His unique style had a profound influence on later generations.
