Open-Air Studio
Step right into Carl Larsson's lush, overgrown garden, where art and nature collide in this whimsical scene. A confident nude model stands tall amidst the dense foliage, holding a flag like a woodland queen, while an artist's easel waits patiently in the foreground to capture her likeness. In the background, a figure relaxes on a white bench, perhaps taking a break from the creative chaos. Larsson, famous for his cozy Swedish home illustrations, here playfully explores the classic 'en plein air' tradition, turning a simple outdoor painting session into a magical, almost mythological encounter.
