The Kitchen
Sunlight streams through lace curtains into a rustic yellow kitchen, where a mother in a blue striped dress tends to a churn while her toddler looks on. A bright red chair and a massive cast-iron stove anchor the room, while a white cat inspects the floorboards nearby. This is a classic scene from Carl Larsson’s beloved home, Lilla Hyttnäs, blending Art Nouveau elegance with rustic Swedish charm. These charming watercolors were so popular they basically invented the 'Scandinavian style' of cozy, functional interior design that the world loves today.
