Women on the Beach, Åsgårdstrand
1920
Edvard Munch, the guy famous for that screaming guy, created this dreamy watercolor scene of women on the beach at Åsgårdstrand, a coastal town he absolutely loved. The figures look almost ghostly, their white dresses and pink reflections shimmering in the water below, blending together in a soft, hazy wash of color. It's a far cry from his angsty masterpieces, showing a quieter, more contemplative side of the artist as he captured the peaceful vibe of summer days by the fjord.
