코믹한 괴상한 사람 플레이트16
1909
Two cheeky frogs ignore the rules at their local swimming hole in this delightful 1909 illustration by Elisabeth Schellbach. One frog, sporting a dapper red swimsuit, perches on a log and drips water noisily while gazing up at a dragonfly. Meanwhile, his companion executes a enthusiastic headfirst dive, creating ripples in the pond. A nearby sign appears to request silent swimming — a rule these amphibious troublemakers are happily breaking. Part of Schellbach's 'Komische Käuze' (Funny Characters) series, this charming Art Nouveau piece captures the playful spirit of early 20th-century German illustration, where animals behaved like mischievous humans.
