Yale University Bibliothek
Designed by Elisha Brown Bird, this intricate bookplate serves as a memorial within the Yale University Library, honoring two generations of military service. At the top, a serene colonial home sits among bare trees, likely representing the family estate, while elaborate Art Nouveau borders frame the scene. Flanking the central text are two soldiers: on the left, a Revolutionary War fighter representing David Brooks (Class of 1768), and on the right, a War of 1812 officer representing his son, Major General Micah Brooks. The piece was gifted by their descendant, Florence Brooks-Aten, ensuring their legacy remains part of the university's history.
