Heidi
1937
Designed by Eric Rohman, this vibrant 1937 Swedish release poster for 'Heidi' cleverly disguises itself as a giant orange book, starring the ultimate child star Shirley Temple. The cover features her iconic curly-haired face, while the spine lists co-star Jean Hersholt. Sketchy blue illustrations in the background show the grumpy grandfather and other characters, setting the stage for this classic heartwarmer. The text at the bottom proudly announces it's based on Johanna Spyri's world-famous novel, brought to life by 20th Century Fox and director Allan Dwan.
