Reflection in Blue
Step into a quiet, sunlit bedroom where a young girl sits dutifully reading to a resting patient, likely a family member recovering from illness. The artist, Eva Bonnier, masterfully uses cool blue light filtering through lace curtains to wash over the crisp white sheets, creating a serene and almost hushed atmosphere. Signed in 1887, this realist gem captures a tender moment of everyday care, proving that sometimes the most powerful art comes from the simplest acts of love and devotion.
