The cow said…
1911
Watch out! This little boy is taking a spectacular tumble down a grassy hill, seemingly fleeing from a rather threatening cow and a windmill that wants to grind him into a cake. Florence Harrison's 1911 illustration brings a whimsical nursery rhyme to life with her signature Art Nouveau flair, featuring soft, glowing colors and a dreamy landscape. The scroll of text reveals a playful, slightly menacing poem where the cow and the mill team up to catch the runaway child, capturing the magical storytelling of the Golden Age of Illustration.
