Saint Jude Thaddeus
Look up at the dramatic face of Saint Jude Thaddeus, captured in a moment of intense spiritual awe by Baroque master Giuseppe Vermiglio. Clutching his signature halberd adorned with a bright red tassel, the saint's weathered hands and expressive gaze draw you right into the scene. Vermiglio was a devoted follower of Caravaggio, and you can clearly see that influence in the bold, theatrical lighting that makes the saint pop against the dark background. It's a perfect example of how Baroque artists turned religious figures into relatable, flesh-and-blood characters.
