1905

Imagine ringing in the New Year with a literal blast of abundance! In this charming 1905 illustration by Grant Hamilton, a chubby cherub steers a giant cornucopia through the night sky like a festive sleigh. Perched on his head is a glowing star announcing '1905,' while the horn he rides overflows with luscious fruits and a bag boldly labeled 'Prosperity.' Flying over a quiet, moonlit town, this image captures the optimistic spirit of the era, promising good fortune and plenty for the year ahead. It's basically the early 20th-century version of a 'Happy New Year' card with extra flair.
