メリーゴーラウンドのキリン
c. 1939
Imagine a giraffe ready for a wild ride at the carnival! Henry Tomaszewski sketched this whimsical 'Carousel Giraffe' around 1939, transforming the tall African mammal into a majestic mount complete with a fancy red saddle, intricate stirrups, and a leather bridle. The saddle features a colorful checkered pattern and a quirky, animal-headed pommel at the back, adding a touch of playful fantasy. While giraffes aren't your typical carousel animals, this design shows how artists loved to reimagine the exotic for everyday entertainment.
