Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains - Silk Wrapper
This elegant fabric-wrapped album serves as a protective shell for one of China's most legendary landscapes. The cover features a mesmerizing geometric pattern of interlocking hexagons and floral medallions in earthy rust, olive, and indigo tones, typical of high-end traditional Asian binding. The label on the spine identifies the contents as Huang Gongwang's 'Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains,' a masterpiece of Yuan Dynasty literati painting. While this cover is pristine, the story of the painting inside is one of dramatic survival; a devoted collector once tried to burn it to take it to the afterlife, resulting in it being scorched and split into two famous halves now housed in separate museums.
