Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains (Master Wuyong Scroll) - Main Painting 3 by Huang Gongwang

Huang Gongwang poured his final years into this sweeping landscape, finishing it around age 80. It captures the tranquil Fuchun River with jagged peaks and tiny boats, but the scroll itself survived a dramatic near-death experience. A collector loved it so much he ordered it burned for his funeral; it was snatched from the fire but split in two. This longer surviving piece, the 'Master Wuyong Scroll,' is now a crown jewel of Chinese art.
