Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains (Master Wuyong Scroll) - Main Painting 4
Huang Gongwang spent years perfecting this serene landscape of the Fuchun River, eventually gifting it to a Daoist monk named Wuyong. The real drama happened centuries later when a collector loved it so much he ordered it burned to accompany him in death! A quick-thinking nephew snatched it from the fire, but not before it was torn into two pieces. This section belongs to the longer surviving half, showcasing masterful dry brushwork that makes the hills look almost like they're breathing.
