Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains (Master Wuyong Scroll) - Colophon 1 - Wu Hufan
Bold, grid-like characters announce a dramatic survival story: this is the 'remnant after fire' of Huang Gongwang's legendary *Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains*. Written by the renowned collector Wu Hufan, this inscription marks the scroll that was nearly destroyed in 1650 when a dying owner tried to burn it for the afterlife. His nephew saved it by pulling it from the flames, splitting the masterpiece into two parts. This calligraphy serves as a certificate of authenticity for the surviving fragment, celebrating its narrow escape from the ashes.
