Cielo despejado tras nieve rápida (Rollo completo) sobre papel 29,7x104,6
Imagine standing in a rugged mountain range just as the winter clouds break—this is the serene vibe Yuan Dynasty master Huang Gongwang captured in this horizontal scroll. The central painting features jagged peaks and sparse trees rendered in delicate ink washes, while the bold calligraphy on the right announces the title 'Timely Clearing After Snowfall,' a nod to a famous letter by the calligraphy sage Wang Xizhi. The left side is densely packed with inscriptions and red collector seals, proving that art lovers have been obsessing over and stamping this masterpiece for centuries. Huang Gongwang, one of the 'Four Masters of the Yuan' who lived to be 86, was a Daoist priest known for infusing his landscapes with a deep, spiritual connection to nature.
