三位一體
Jusepe de Ribera, a Spanish master who worked in Naples, brings intense, gritty realism to this depiction of the Holy Trinity. Notice how the lifeless body of Christ feels incredibly heavy, almost slipping through the angels' grasp as they struggle to support the white shroud. God the Father looms above in rich crimson robes, looking more like a powerful patriarch than a distant deity, while the Holy Spirit appears as a simple white dove nestled between them. Ribera was famous for his dramatic use of light and shadow, making the figures emerge from the darkness like actors on a theatrical stage.
