Paesaggio tirolese con ponte
1913
Lovis Corinth painted this vibrant Tyrolean landscape in 1913, just a couple of years after a severe stroke dramatically changed his artistic style. The rough, energetic brushstrokes and bold colors transform a simple wooden bridge in a dense forest into a swirling, almost chaotic scene of nature. Instead of smooth realism, Corinth used thick, visible strokes to capture the raw feeling of the Alpine wilderness, making it a perfect example of German Expressionism. The mountains in the background loom under a streaky blue sky, adding to the dramatic atmosphere of this outdoor adventure.
