Pensamentos
Odilon Redon famously started out creating spooky, black charcoal dreams, but in his later years, he exploded into color with works like this. The title 'Pensées' is a brilliant French pun—it means both 'pansies' (the flowers) and 'thoughts,' implying these vibrant blooms are actually ideas floating in the air. The deep blue vase grounds the image, while the fuzzy, textured petals of purple, blue, and yellow seem to glow against the neutral background. It’s a perfect example of Symbolism, where a simple flower pot becomes a window into the artist's mind.
