Jarrón de anémonas
Odilon Redon was famous for his creepy, dark charcoal drawings early in his career, so this explosion of color is a huge surprise! Painted late in his life, this bouquet of anemones, daffodils, and other blooms floats against a dreamy, hazy background of pinks and purples. Redon believed that flowers were like human faces, capable of expressing deep emotion, which explains why these petals seem to glow with an inner light. It’s a perfect example of Symbolism, where the feeling matters more than realistic detail.
