夏尔-安德烈·范洛
典雅的法国历史画家
卡尔或夏尔-安德烈·范洛是一位法国题材画家，是画家路易-亚伯拉罕·范洛之子、让-巴蒂斯特·范洛之弟，以及雅各布·范洛之孙。他是这个源自荷兰的成功画家世家中最负盛名的成员。他的作品涵盖各类题材：宗教、历史画、神话、肖像、寓言及风俗场景。 他出生于尼斯，当时该地属于萨伏依公国。范洛追随其兄让-巴蒂斯特前往都灵，随后于1712年抵达罗马，师从贝内代托·卢蒂和雕塑家皮埃尔·勒格罗学习。1723年离开意大利后，他在巴黎工作，并在皇家学院深造，同年获得素描一等奖，又于1727年获得历史画一等奖——他未来的对手弗朗索瓦·布歇也获得了该奖项。1724年，他荣获罗马大奖。 凭借其对意大利大师的深入研究，他以简约的风格和严谨的构图，为净化现代法国画派作出了巨大贡献；然而，后世对其作品所给予的过度赞誉，如今看来已显得过犹不及。他的赞助人包括宫廷成员、戈布兰工厂、私人藏家以及教会。在随后的几个世纪里，尽管凡·卢的艺术造诣依然令人钦佩，其作品的质量与多样性也备受推崇，但他在评论界的声誉却一落千丈。他的画作《圣母的婚礼》现珍藏于卢浮宫。
