夏爾-安德烈·范洛
典雅的法國歷史畫家
卡爾或夏爾-安德烈·范洛是一位法國題材畫家，是畫家路易-亞伯拉罕·范洛之子、讓-巴蒂斯特·范洛之弟，以及雅各布·范洛之孫。他是這個源自荷蘭的成功畫家世家中最負盛名的成員。他的作品涵蓋各類題材：宗教、歷史畫、神話、肖像、寓言及風俗場景。 他出生於尼斯，當時該地屬於薩伏依公國。范洛追隨其兄讓-巴蒂斯特前往杜林，隨後於1712年抵達羅馬，師從貝內代托·盧蒂和雕塑家皮埃爾·勒格羅學習。1723年離開義大利後，他在巴黎工作，並在皇家學院深造，同年獲得素描一等獎，又於1727年獲得歷史畫一等獎——他未來的對手弗朗索瓦·布歇也獲得了該獎項。1724年，他榮獲羅馬大獎。 憑藉其對義大利大師的深入研究，他以簡約的風格和嚴謹的構圖，為淨化現代法國畫派作出了巨大貢獻；然而，後世對其作品所給予的過度讚譽，如今看來已顯得過猶不及。他的贊助者包括宮廷成員、戈布蘭工廠、私人收藏家以及教會。在隨後的幾個世紀裡，儘管凡·盧的藝術造詣依然令人欽佩，其作品的品質與多樣性也備受推崇，但他在評論界的聲譽卻一落千丈。他的畫作《聖母的婚禮》現珍藏於羅浮宮。
