Paolo Veronés
Maestro del color veneciano
Paolo Veronese fue un pintor italiano del Renacimiento, establecido en Venecia, conocido por sus pinturas históricas de gran formato sobre temas religiosos y mitológicos, como Las bodas de Caná (1563) y La cena en casa de Leví (1573). Junto con Tiziano, una generación mayor, y Tintoretto, una década más viejo, Veronese es uno del “gran trío que dominó la pintura veneciana del Cinquecento” y el Renacimiento tardío en el siglo XVI. Conocido como un supremo colorista, y después de un periodo inicial con el manierismo, Paolo Veronese desarrolló un estilo naturalista de pintura, influenciado por Tiziano.
