베네치아 색채의 대가
파올로 베로네제는 이탈리아 르네상스 시대의 화가로, 베네치아를 거점으로 종교와 신화를 소재로 한 대형 역사화로 유명하며, 대표작으로는 『카나의 혼인 잔치』(1563년)와 『레비 가의 연회』(1573년)가 있습니다. 한 세대 위인 티치아노와 10세 연상인 틴토레토와 함께, 베로네제는 "16세기 베네치아 회화와 후기 르네상스를 지배한 위대한 삼인방" 중 한 명입니다. 뛰어난 색채가로서 알려져 있으며, 초기 매너리즘 시기를 거쳐 파올로 베로네제는 티치아노의 영향을 받은 자연주의적 화풍을 발전시켰습니다.
