Paolo Veronese
Mestre do colorismo veneziano
Paolo Veronese foi um pintor italiano do Renascimento, baseado em Veneza, conhecido por suas pinturas históricas de grande formato sobre religião e mitologia, como As Bodas de Caná (1563) e A Ceia na Casa de Levi (1573). Juntamente com Ticiano, de uma geração mais velha, e Tintoretto, uma década mais velho, Veronese é um dos “grandes três que dominaram a pintura veneziana do Quinhentos” e o Alto Renascimento no século XVI. Conhecido como um colorista supremo, e após um período inicial com o maneirismo, Paolo Veronese desenvolveu um estilo naturalista de pintura, influenciado por Ticiano.
