Self-portrait, age 13.
Imagine being 13 years old and drawing something this good! Albrecht Dürer created this incredibly detailed portrait of himself using a mirror back in 1484. You can see the young artist with his shoulder-length hair and a soft cap, looking off to the side with a serious expression, his hand pointing as if to say 'I did this.' The inscription at the top, written in his own hand, proudly declares that he drew it from a mirror when he was still a child. It’s a stunning glimpse into the childhood of a Renaissance master who was clearly a prodigy.
