Alphonse Mucha designed this masterpiece to promote the play La Tosca, starring the legendary stage actress Sarah Bernhardt. She stands tall in a dramatic pose, clutching a huge bouquet of flowers in one hand and a sword in the other, perfectly capturing the duality of her character—beautiful yet deadly. The intricate, swirling background and the halo behind her head are signature Art Nouveau touches that elevate the actress to the status of a goddess. This poster helped launch Mucha to international fame and defined the 'Mucha Style' that swept through Paris at the end of the 19th century.
