Waterloo Bridge (1901)
Monet was absolutely obsessed with London's thick, pea-soup fog, and this dreamy, blue-hued sketch of the Waterloo Bridge proves it. Painted during his trips to England around 1901, he set up his easel at the Savoy Hotel to capture the fleeting light and mist rolling over the Thames. He famously grumbled when the sun came out and burned off the fog he loved so much! The soft, hazy strokes perfectly capture that moody, atmospheric London morning, showing why he's the ultimate master of Impressionism.
