Exciting reading
Emil Rau captures a moment of pure absorption in this charming portrait of a young woman lost in a book. Resting her chin on her hand, she gazes dreamily over the open pages, her flushed cheeks suggesting she's completely captivated by the story—fitting for a piece titled 'Spannende Lektüre' (Exciting Reading). Her green hat, playfully adorned with pink flowers, and the loose purple scarf add a touch of rustic elegance, perfectly embodying the Romantic era's fascination with emotion and everyday beauty.
