Count d'Osmond and Charles d'Osmond
Eugène Giraud, a master of 19th-century Parisian caricature, takes a playful jab at the d'Osmond aristocrats in this lively sketch. The older Comte on the left cuts a formidable figure with his massive white cravat, wild hair, and wide-legged stance, looking almost ready for a duel. Beside him, Charles appears much more dapper with his top hat and cane, though Giraud still exaggerates his prominent nose and slender frame. It’s a delightful glimpse into how this academic painter poked fun at high society fashion and personality.
