Scroll of Misty Mountains at Autumn Dawn - Colophon
Think of this as the ancient equivalent of a guest book for a masterpiece. This section is the colophon (inscription) for a scroll attributed to Fan Kuan, the Northern Song giant who famously lived as a recluse in the mountains to capture their spirit. The sweeping cursive calligraphy on the right and the red seals scattered about show how later collectors and critics—like art influencers of their day—praised his bold brushwork. The vast empty space in the center hints at the original painting's grandeur, now serving as a canvas for history's commentary.
