La Cour du Dragon.
1926
Swedish architect Ferdinand Boberg captured this moody Parisian courtyard in 1926, preserving the historic Cour du Dragon just a few years before it was demolished for modern city expansion. Named after a famous dragon sign that once hung over the entrance, this courtyard was a legendary hideout for artists and craftsmen in the 6th arrondissement. The scene here feels surprisingly quiet and gritty, with towering arched doorways and scattered crates hinting at its working-class past. Boberg’s atmospheric style perfectly freezes a slice of 'Old Paris' that has long since vanished, turning a simple street corner into a precious historical time capsule.
