The Nativity
Francesco Di Simone Da Santacroce
Step into a rustic Renaissance stable where the holy family shares a quiet moment with a donkey and an ox. Francesco Di Simone Da Santacroce paints a serene Nativity scene, framing Mary in a rich, patterned cloak and Joseph in vibrant red as they adore the baby Jesus. Above them, cherubic angels cling to the wooden beams, unfurling scrolls of praise, while in the rolling green hills behind, shepherds tend their flocks under a bright blue sky. It’s a charming blend of the divine and the everyday, complete with a tiny rabbit hopping in the foreground!
