Fuchs by Georges Braque, 1911

Georges Braque playfully hides the word "FOX" amidst a chaotic jumble of geometric shards and scribbled lines in this 1911 Cubist experiment. Instead of depicting a literal animal, he deconstructs the very idea of a subject, breaking it down into floating letters, delicate curves, and intersecting planes that dance across the page. It's a brilliant visual puzzle from the height of Analytic Cubism, a period when Braque and his partner-in-crime Picasso were busy dismantling traditional perspective just to see how the pieces might fit back together.
