An angel with sweeping, feathered wings leans down urgently to whisper a divine message to a sleeping, bearded Joseph—likely the famous dream where he's told not to fear taking Mary as his wife. In the background, Mary rests peacefully with the infant Jesus, completely unaware of the heavenly intervention happening just feet away. The loose, energetic strokes give the scene a dreamlike quality, as if we are peeking directly into Joseph's sleeping mind.
