Kat met vier kittens
Known as the 'Raphael of Cats,' Swiss artist Gottfried Mind had an uncanny ability to capture the playful chaos of feline life long before internet cat videos existed. In this charming scene, a patient calico mother endures the antics of her four kittens—one boldly batting at her face while the others explore around her legs. Mind spent much of his life observing stray cats in Bern, giving his work a lifelike warmth that stood out during the Romantic era, where nature and emotion were king.
