Klimt was basically the king of sketching, churning out over 4,000 drawings in his life, and the vast majority were of nude women. In this intimate pencil study, a model sits in profile with hair flowing down her back like a dark waterfall. While he's famous for those shiny gold paintings, these private sketches show his softer, more sensual side rooted in the Symbolist movement.
