オレンジの木々
1878
Gustave Caillebotte captures a lazy, sun-drenched afternoon in his family's garden at Petit-Gennevilliers. A man in a straw hat is completely absorbed in his book on a wicker chair, while a woman admires the vibrant flower beds just beyond the terrace wall. Notice the empty chairs and the sleeping dog in the background? They add a wonderful sense of quiet, everyday life that was a hallmark of the Impressionist movement, proving that sometimes the most beautiful scenes are the ones we just relax in.
