Rousseau never actually left France to see these jungles; he got his inspiration from Parisian botanical gardens and illustrated books! This lush, dreamlike scene features a leopard and a black panther lurking among oversized tropical plants under a bold red sun. His unique 'naïve' style makes the flat, layered foliage feel both mysterious and strangely inviting, proving you don't need to travel the world to create an exotic masterpiece.
