1940
Imagine a giant egg standing calmly while the world burns behind it—that's the striking visual punch of this 1940 poster by Herbert Bayer. As a former Bauhaus master, Bayer used his signature clean lines and bold typography to turn a humble breakfast item into a symbol of wartime solidarity. The message 'Our Allies Need Eggs' was an urgent call to American farmers to support Britain, proving that even agriculture could be a heroic act of modernist design.
