Cielo sereno dopo neve rapida - Colofone
This scroll is a time capsule of Chinese calligraphy, centered around Wang Xizhi's famous 'Letter on Clearing After Snowfall'—essentially a 4th-century note saying, 'It snowed, then cleared up, hope you're well.' The large, fluid characters in the middle are a copy by the Yuan dynasty master Zhang Yu. Surrounding this centerpiece is a dense layer of commentary, including an inscription by the legendary painter Huang Gongwang. Huang praises the work, suggesting it's worthy of being displayed alongside the original 'true trace.' The paper is heavily stamped with red collector seals, acting like a VIP guest list of emperors and scholars who have obsessed over this piece for centuries.
