Kanadischer Waldsänger
1827-1838
Audubon’s dynamic composition captures two Canada Warblers mid-song on a flowering branch, showcasing his signature 'action pose' style that revolutionized bird illustration. Unlike stiff museum specimens of the era, these birds twist and turn with lifelike energy against delicate pink blossoms. This plate comes from his monumental 'The Birds of America', a double-elephant folio so massive it required subscribers to have custom furniture built just to store it!
