오두막이 있는 강 풍경
Jules Dupré brings the drama of the French countryside to life in this moody landscape. A giant, dark tree acts as a protective umbrella over tiny cottages and figures, while the sky above churns with sickly greens and yellows, hinting at a storm. In the foreground, a dark river reflects the gloomy atmosphere. As a key figure of the Barbizon School, Dupré helped artists ditch the studio to paint nature's raw power directly from the field. You can almost feel the damp earth and hear the wind rustling through those heavy leaves thanks to the energetic brushwork.
