Small Cold Forest Scroll - Main Painting
Step into a misty, wintry world where ancient trees stretch their gnarled branches like crab claws against a fading sky. This is the signature style of Li Cheng, a master of the Northern Song Dynasty who captured the desolate beauty of 'cold forests' better than anyone else. He was so famous during his lifetime that people started forging his work immediately—historical records joke that there were hundreds of fakes for every one real painting! The red seals stamped across the surface tell the story of its journey through the hands of emperors and collectors over centuries, acting like a VIP guest list for this masterpiece.
