滿月下的鴨子
1900 - 1945
Look at these two ducks huddled together—they look like they're sharing a secret or just trying to stay warm under that giant, glowing moon. Ohara Koson was a master of 'kacho-e' (bird-and-flower prints), and he perfectly captured the cozy intimacy of nature here. The gnarled plum branch stretching across the moon adds a dramatic, almost calligraphic touch to the scene. Koson was a key figure in the Shin-hanga movement, which revived traditional Japanese woodblock printing for a modern audience, making his works incredibly popular in the West during the early 20th century.
